Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a mechancal abrasive procedure where crystals ( I use baking powder), is used to remove dead surface skin cells on the face. This procedure is used to polish the face, remove sun damaged skin, and prep the skin prior to a chemical acid peel. The suction of the crystals, help stimulate collagen formation and plumps up the skin. A series of treatments gets better results with the use of a proper skin care regimen. Sun screen must be worn after treatments to avoid hyperpigmentation (brown spots) from sun exposure. Microdermabrasion should not be used on patients who have taken the medication Accutane in the previous 12 months. Baking powder is a less abrasive than aluminum crystals and is healthier for both the patient and the technician.
